Social Work Services work with individuals having a disability and their families/carers to deal with their social problems in an effective way. It responds to all service requests and plans to meet the desired objectives of the client and his/her family/carer through assessment, short-term and/or long-term interventions.
Aims:
Social Work Services seek to promote the recognition of the person with a disability as a full member of society. The principle aim is to assist such persons to gain all their rights and exercise such rights to be active citizens in their community. Agenzija SAPPORT's Social Work Services believes that through the participation and contribution of the person having a disability, the community is enriched, and thus strives to advocate for and promote such involvement.

In adherence with the Agency's Holistic and Person-Centred Approach, Social Work Services strive to provide individualised support services that would enable and empower the person with a disability to realize their vision, dreams and hopes in life to enhance their quality of life.
Description:
Social Work Services provide the following:
- Intake: responds to service requests and proceeds with the follow-up plans.
- Co-ordination: supports persons having a disability and their families in all decision-making processes that affect them and in co-ordinating formal and informal service provision.
- Advocacy: provides advocacy services along with, or on behalf of a person with a disability whose rights to services or opportunities may actually or potentially be compromised. This service includes assisting such people to participate in all aspects of community life (education, employment, recreation, home, social, etc.).
- Individual and Group Facilitation: provides individual and group sessions for persons having a disability and/or their families to help them explore and develop alternative coping strategies when faced with difficult situations.
- Screening and Assessment: provides screening and assessment in the areas of community involvement, social, emotional, educational and employment.
- Review: conduct and/or participate in regular reviews to ensure effective service provision both in relation to Community and Residential clients as well as Social Work Services clients.
