Social Work Services may be accessed by any individual having a disability who requires such support; and is therefore not restricted to any age bracket or type of impairment. However these Services are directed by the following criteria:
- Priority is given to individuals having a disability with challenging behaviour, at high risk of being institutionalised, or in high need.
- The request of an individiual with a disability can be met with the resources currently available within Social Work Services. When such resources are not immediately accessible, the Social Work Services will commit itself to address the needs of the individual when resources are available.
- The Service is voluntary which means that the person with a disability, his/her family, and/or service providers are willing to participate in the social work process.
