Persons with disability get to meet various dignitaries during the annual Methodian’s Fun Day

The Methodians’ Help Fund has once again dedicated its time and support to organize Fun for All, a day full of activities for the persons with a disability attending the Day Services of Agenzija Sapport. This is the ninth consecutive year that this voluntary fund within Methode Electronics Malta Ltd has embarked on such initiative.
This year, the activity was opened by the President and Founder of the Methodians’ Help Fund, Mr. Gaetano Barbara and His Excellency the Bishop of Gozo Mons. Mario Grech. Present for this event were also Ms. Margaret Quintano, Human Resources Manager, Methode Electronics Malta Ltd, Hon. Ms. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Ms. Sina Bugeja, CEO Foundation for Social Welfare Services and Mr. Marcel Pisani, Chief Operations Officer of Agenzija Sapport. During this event, for which around 300 persons with a disability attended, the invited Honorary guests had the opportunity to meet with clients present, as well as with the Day Services staff and Methode Electronics Ltd volunteers. The event was packed with sports and fun activities, organized by the committee members of the Methodians’ Help Fund together with Agenzija Sapport. The Police Force Band also entertained those present with its performances. This annual event not only facilitates integration between the clients themselves but also between the clients and members of the public, this time the employees of a private company in this case Methode Electronics Ltd. employees. It also forms part of the integration programme for persons with a disability receiving this service, which includes regular events and ongoing skills development activities within the Day Services. Methode Electronics Malta Ltd. would like to express its thanks to His Excellency the President of Malta and His Excellency the Bishop of Gozo for their visit. The Agency would like to show appreciation towards the Methodian’s Help Fund for their yearly support in organizing this activity, which is very much welcomed by the persons with a disability. Special thanks also go to Suiga Company Ltd. for sponsoring the memorabilia given to the clients during the games.
Such regular events are held for persons with a disability, who have a lot to offer, and whose qualities society has an obligation to appreciate. Through the participation and contribution of these people, the community at large is enriched. The role of these day services is to strive to advocate for and promote such involvement. Currently there are 9 Day Centres in Malta located in Paola, Santa Venera, Hal Far, Fleur de-Lys, M’Scala, Swatar, Birgu and 2 at Imtarfa, which give a service to over 400 clients coming from various localities.
