Q : How can I access your Services? A : For any service request the person must contact the Social Work Services directly. The person will be supplied with all necessary information and directed accordingly.
Q : If I am a person having a disability, and I have an issue that is not related to my impairment, can I still avail assistance through Social Work Services? A : The Social Work Services were established to assist individuals with a disability in any disability-related issue as well as with any other issues that they may encounter. However, when deemed appropriate, the individual may be referred to a more specialized service or professional. Moreover, the individual with a disability has the right to access any Social Work Service directly.
Q : Following the initial contact, when shall I start receiving Social Work Services? A : The urgency of the situation is assessed immediately and depending on its priority, the Social Work Team decides whether to initiate service provision or place on the waiting list. Length of time on the waiting list is not a factor in deciding when one will benefit from Social Work Services as vacancies arise.
Q : Are such Services against payment? A : No, the services are offered or provided free of charge.
Q : Is this Service available to persons having a disability who are presently living in an institution? A : Yes, SAPPORT provides this Service to such people residing in institutions.
Q : Are the Social Work Services specialized to address my condition and/or impairment? A : The Social Work Team tries to meet the needs of any individual having a disability who may require the Service. In view of this the Team receives training in different areas. If need be, other professionals outside the Agency will be consulted.
